When the surfing GOAT retires, he won’t be spending his time at a beachfront estate he owns on Oahu’s North Shore.
As the Wall Street Journal first reported, Kelly Slater’s 7,680-square-foot oceanfront compound in Haleiwa, HI, has barreled onto the market for $20 million.
Public records show that Slater picked up the property in 2017 for $7.8 million.

Listing details reveal that the grand spread sits on Papailoa Road, the most coveted street on the North Shore.
According to the WSJ, Slater spent his early days crashing on the floor of a home nearby and always dreamed of living on this exclusive street.
Built in 2001, the retreatlike residence is on just over a half-acre. There are ocean views throughout, with soaring ceilings and equally high glass doors.

There are six bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread across a main home and two guesthouses. Organic influences are also apparent: Wood factors prominently throughout the design in several living and sitting areas.
An infinity pool and a hot tub are surrounded by mature tropical landscaping, and the beach is just behind the house.

Slater reportedly owns another property in Hawaii, which is closer to the main surfing areas, and often rents this home out. Most recently, it was listed last year for $55,000 a month.

Slater, 52, has been surfing professionally since 1990. He has won the world surfing championships 11 times and has said he will retire this year.
When not in the water, the surfing icon also appeared in seven episodes of the TV show “Baywatch.” Slater and his longtime girlfriend, Kalani Miller, recently announced they are expecting their first baby together. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
