Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has turned up the heat on his long-simmering beef with Drake: They both claim the title of the best rapper alive.

The feud erupted after Lamar took issue with being lumped alongside Drake and J Cole as the ‘big three’ of rap in the pair’s song, ‘First Person Shooter.’ Lamar fired off a response saying, ‘It’s just me’, in a fiery verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s track, ‘Like That.’ He also compared his legacy to that of Prince.

So while Lamar and Drake’s mic techniques might be up for debate, there’s no disputing that K-Dot and Champagne Papi also compete when it comes to their property portfolios.

The two rappers have acquired some pricey, princely real estate over the years. But who owns the finer mansions? We’ll let you be the judge. Take a look.

Drake’s real estate flex

The Canadian-born rapper has put his own stamp on hip-hop. He’s sold over 170 million albums and notched 13 number one hits.

In addition to his prolific and lucrative recording career, Drake has regal real estate in two countries.

Texas ranch

Drake broke the internet late last summer when he teased that he’d found a place in Texas during a Houston concert.

“I’m excited I get to share this with you. I had to make it official first,” he told the crowd. “I’ve been looking for a long time, trying to figure out the right place for me to live—where I belong outside of Toronto. And I finally, finally, after all these years, found me a place in Houston, Texas!”

The 313-acre property the rapper reportedly picked up for $15 million is about 45 minutes outside of H-Town in Washington, TX. It’s a whopper of a private resort and apparently Drake’s Lone Star paradise.

Formerly operating as a Relais and Chateaux Resort and known as The Inn at Dos Brisas, the spread includes multiple homes and pools, equestrian facilities, a tennis court, and three ponds.

Beverly Hills megamansion

In a sign that he’s serious about his new Texas digs, the rapper quickly attempted to flip the Beverly Hills mansion he purchased in 2022 from musician Robbie Williams.

Drake scored the 90210 estate in March 2022 for $75 million, and it went back on the market in May 2023 with a price tag of $88 million. Today, it’s still on the market for the same price.

The nearly 25,000-square-foot property features a professional screening room, huge wine cellar, and a tennis court. It sits on 20 acres at the end a long and private, gated driveway.

YOLO compound nets big bucks for Drake

Before he headed into Beverly Hills, Drake had cobbled together his very own YOLO compound in the celeb-heavy enclave of Hidden Hills.

In March 2022, he put the entire three-parcel spread on the market for $22.2 million. Transformed into a party pad designed to entertain a large crowd, the residence has been updated to include a massive swimming pool and spa grotto, a swim-up bar, waterfalls, and a rock waterslide.

Two of the Drake-owned homes were purchased by Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford—one sold for $11 million, and the main house sold for $12 million.

A $23 million payday. Not bad!

North of the border

Drake has a fascinating place to stay when he’s in his hometown of Toronto.

Drizzy custom built an astonishing manor house that was featured on the cover of Architectural Digest.

The 50,000-square-foot mansion includes a regulation-size, indoor basketball court; a bar with champagne and wine chillers; and a hot tub with a TV screen.

Everything’s Gonna Be Alright: Kendrick Lamar

Not to be outdone, Kendrick Lamar is a worthy opponent in rap and in real estate. When it comes to writing bars, he’s notched accolades beyond the reach of most rappers and has no reason to be humble.

Lamar has earned Pulitzer Prize for his music, along with 17 Grammy Awards. Outside the recording booth, his property portfolio is also award-worthy.

Good kid in the M.A.A.D city

Lamar went back to hip-hop’s roots and bought a Brooklyn penthouse in 2023 for $8.6 million.

The 3,140-square-foot condo in Brooklyn was finished in 2015 and features a two-level, open layout with floor-to-ceiling windows. The four-bedroom unit also features a private terrace and an oversized, rooftop deck.

Calabasas crib

In 2018, we learned that the rapper had picked up an investment property in Calabasas, CA, for $2,650,000. Situated in part of the exclusive community of Calabasas Park Estates, the 5,433-square-foot home includes a gym, family room, and guest suite. It’s reportedly a place for Kendrick’s family.

Luxe SoCal options for Lamar

So where does the Compton-born talent lay his head when he’s going back to Cali?

He reportedly has a couple of sweet options. He owns a $9.7 million modern mansion in Manhattan Beach. He picked up the place in 2019, according to Architectural Digest. The off-market deal means there are no details or photos, but AD noted the “contemporary gem” features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms arranged throughout 5,350 square feet.

The publication also mentioned that Kendrick also owns a 1950s-era, Bel-Air estate that he snagged for $15.8 million at the end of 2022.

The ranch house in the desirable East Gate community was designed in 1951 by noted architect Edward Fickett. It’s since been expanded and renovated into a minicompound with a main house and two-story guesthouse, totaling 8,000 square feet and offering seven bedrooms.
