Tech billionaire and venture capitalist Marc Andreessen has put his palatial Atherton, CA, estate on the market for $33,375,000.
The five-bedroom, seven-bath property offers over 12,400 square feet of living space on a 1.55-acre lot. It was built in 1995 but underwent what the listing describes as a “total transformation” by Andreessen and his family. According to records, he bought the property in 2007 for $16,608,000—just about half of what he has it on the market for now.
The entrepreneur has been snapping up properties left and right. Just a few years ago, Andreessen dropped $177 million on a megasized Malibu compound in one of the most expensive home purchases in California history.
This palatial estate features a Spanish-tiled roof.

Silicon Valley sophistication
Known as one of the area’s most iconic homes, Andreessen’s Atherton abode seamlessly meshes classic sophistication and convenience.
It has multiple living rooms, including one with a cream-hued fireplace and floor-to-ceiling French doors leading to a private balcony.
The home is outfitted with two kitchens, which make hosting and entertaining a breeze. One has a seated center island with a sunken sitting room attached to it, while the other is a galley-style space with a double sink. Meals can be enjoyed in the formal dining room or windowed dining nook.
Notable details on the main floor include recessed lighting, custom built-ins, and wall molding specifically designed to hang fine art. American cherry and light-wood floors, along with a neutral color palette, give the space a relaxing feel.

Outdoor oasis
The bedrooms are reminiscent of those in five-star hotels, with spacious walk-in closets, marble fireplaces, and private outdoor spaces.
Outside, there are multiple covered patio areas and gorgeous fountains that rival those found at historic estates. And while there’s no pool in the back yard currently, there’s plenty of room to install one.
Additionally, this address has a built-in vacuum system, wet bar, laundry room, and home theater. There’s also a four-car garage, one-bedroom guesthouse, and a detached studio that’s perfect for a buyer who works from home.
Every bedroom has large windows and hardwood floors.
