Built for sunsets, a modern home in Florida pays tribute to what stood on the peninsula lot prior to its construction.
Known as The Pink House, the incredible residence in Naples was finished five years ago and is on the market for $17.2 million.
“The house was built in 2018 by a very thoughtful architect, builder, and interior designer to make something that was an homage to the previous house that had been there from the 1960s—that house was painted a bright pink,” says listing agent Annie Hagstrom, with John R. Wood Properties.
She says the owners wanted to build something “that gives back to that beautiful pink house” while capturing the property’s unparalleled views.

The result is a lovely 4,315-square-foot house with a giant pink wall that’s visible both inside and out. It’s easy to spot from almost anywhere on Naples Bay and sets the home apart from its neighbors.
“I love the pink wall,” Hagstrom says. “It goes from the outside to the inside. They strategically built it so that when you’re sitting in an outdoor space, you can see this bright pink wall; and when you come in the house, it’s that same wall. The same paint is going all the way upstairs.”

The home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an array of floor-to-ceiling windows.
“It faces west, so it’s a sunset view,” Hagstrom notes. “You have the feeling of living inside and outside. You open all the doors, and you feel like you’re outside.”

One of the bedrooms has a particularly unique space—a bed in a window nook in a part of the home that is cantilevered from the home itself.
“When you’re sitting in this window box bed, you have the most incredible view of the water,” Hagstrom says. “It would be a cozy spot where you could curl up like a cat, read a book, and enjoy.”

Hagstrom says the home is a work of art designed to appeal to a buyer in search of a remarkable waterfront home.
“It’s a piece of art, right from the driveway,” she observes. “It has a living driveway with grass growing in different sections and is being watered from underneath.”
The current owners don’t keep vehicles on the driveway, which has to be mowed.
“They loved the way it looks, so they cultivated it as a living sculpture,” Hagstrom says.
The backyard boasts an infinity pool and 170 feet of private peninsula. There’s no dock currently, but the third-acre lot has 80 feet of deeded canal frontage with deep water.
Recently, the sellers lowered the price from its original $18 million ask.
“We decided to bring the price down to reflect the current market and to bring more activity to the home,” Hagstrom says, noting that the owners are selling so they can begin another venture down the street. “They love to do creative projects, and they want another opportunity to do something else. They love the idea of the building process, the design process, working with people, and finding unusual materials. They want to do it again.”
