A tiny house<\/a> in Cupertino, CA<\/a>, is getting lots of attention for its price per square foot\u2014a hefty $4,424. So the price on this 384-square-foot house works out to $1,699,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely an attention grabber when you just put those two things\u2014you can\u2019t help but click on it,\u201d says Faviola Perez<\/strong>, who is co-listing the property with Steve Bonafede<\/strong>. Both are with the Bonafede Team.<\/p>\n

Despite the eyebrow-raising price tag, a taker turned up quickly. After just nine days on the market, the home found a buyer. The deal hasn\u2019t yet closed but is in contingent status.<\/p>\n

If the city\u2019s name sounds familiar, that\u2019s because the Silicon Valley enclave happens to be the home of a little company called Apple. And living in the area isn\u2019t exactly cheap. For context, Cupertino currently has 60 homes on the market, with a median price of $2.86 million, according to Realtor.com\u00ae.<\/p>\n

\u2018Surrounded by $5 million homes\u2019<\/h2>\n

In fact, this little house sits on some very valuable real estate\u2014a not-so-tiny, 7,841-square-foot lot in a great location on a cul-de-sac.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think people are getting caught up on the fact that it\u2019s a huge price tag for such a small home; but in reality, it\u2019s the lot and the potential for the lot and what that can offer in a neighborhood surrounded by $5 million homes,\u201d Perez points out.<\/p>\n

As the listing notes, the property is \u201ca canvas waiting for your personal touch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The one-bedroom (which is also the living space), one-bath cabin dates back to 1948.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was not much development in the town at that time, so people would build small hunting cabins on big lots,\u201d Perez explains.<\/p>\n

The \u2018shocker\u2019 sale<\/h2>\n

As Cupertino grew in the early 2000s, developers and individuals bulldozed many of the cabins and replaced them with bigger, more expensive homes. \u201c<\/p>\n

This could very well be one of the last little, original hunting cabins standing,\u201d Perez says.<\/p>\n

But it probably won\u2019t be standing for long.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ended up receiving a total of seven offers, and the property went several hundred thousand over list,\u201d Perez reports. \u201cWe can\u2019t disclose what it is pending at; but once it\u2019s closed, I think it\u2019s going to be more of a shocker.\u201d<\/p>\n

She says that while she can\u2019t disclose the pending sale amount, she believes \u201cit\u2019s going to be more of a shocker\u201d once the number is revealed.<\/p>\n

Perez notes that the sellers inherited the property that had been a rental. And while the tiny house could continue as an accessory dwelling unit or a guesthouse, she acknowledges that\u2019s probably not the buyer\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the house has seen its final days,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
