Comic book creator Todd McFarlane<\/strong>, best known for his work on \u201cThe Amazing Spider-Man\u201d and the creation of \u201cSpawn,\u201d just picked up a Southern California pad.<\/p>\n

While he has long been based in the Phoenix<\/a> area, McFarlane\u2019s continued work in Hollywood makes this pied-\u00e0-terre a logical (and luxe) choice.<\/p>\n

He bought the Spanish Colonial Revival estate in leafy Altadena, CA<\/a>, for $3,838,472.<\/p>\n

He went on to found Image Comics, where he developed his Spawn character, which sold millions of copies and was adapted for a 1997 film starring Michael Jai White<\/strong>. McFarlane is currently on the verge of making his directorial debut with the \u201cSpawn\u201d reboot film, starring Jamie Foxx<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
