Cady Hill is the 6,218-square-foot, seven-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom home at 40 Geyser Road in Saratoga Springs, NY<\/a>. The home was completed in 1851 and comes with an 11-car garage, rose gardens, tennis courts, and a heated pool on its on 120 acres.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is so much history as the property dates back to the pre-Revolutionary War with rumors of George Washington<\/strong> staying on the estate in the building referred to as the George Washington Tavern,\u201d says listing agent Julie A. Bonacio<\/strong>, broker and owner of Julie & Co. Realty. \u201cIt is truly one of a kind, a gem of Saratoga that could never be re-created again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cady Hill is being listed by Whitney\u2019s husband, John Hendrickson<\/strong>, who now spends most of his time in Florida. His late wife lived in the house beginning in 1958, when she married her previous husband, Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney<\/strong>, who had purchased the property in 1936, according to the Daily Gazette<\/a>. Cornelius died in 1992.<\/p>\n

Marylou Whitney died in 2019 at the age of 93. She had a stable of 190 winning horses. Her philanthropy and love of racing helped keep Saratoga Springs<\/a> afloat during tough decades like the 1970s, when attendance at races plummeted, the Daily Gazette<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n
