The four-bedroom, renovated residence at 47 Spaulding Lane<\/a> sits on 17 acres on nearly a half-mile of river frontage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe views of the Hudson River, from inside and out, are absolutely spectacular at this property,\u201d says listing agent Megan Brenn-White<\/strong>, of the Upstate Curious Team at Compass<\/a>. \u201cBecause the home is perched on a hill at the end of a long driveway, you have total privacy\u2014very unusual for being so close to a town center.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the remote feeling of the place, it\u2019s just a five-minute drive from conveniences and attractions in Saugerties.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an adorable upstate village with restaurants, shops, a movie theater, and tons of antique stores,\u201d Brenn-White says.<\/p>\n

But river frontage and a great location aren\u2019t the only things to love about this 3,011-square-foot home<\/a>. It also comes with a distinctly urban-chic vibe, thanks to the skilled work inherent in both the original design and recent renovations.<\/p>\n

Recently, the 65-year-old home was transformed.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiterally everything was renovated in this home between 2018 and 2019, except the stone surround of the newly imported wood stove,\u201d Brenn-White says.<\/p>\n

The seller, NYC-based architect Thomas Warnke<\/strong>, lofted all of the original ceilings on the top floors and created several new living spaces within the home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe glass room right on the Hudson is absolutely lovely,\u201d Brenn-White says. \u201cIt was built entirely from windows and bits of wood that would have been thrown away during the renovation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another of the home\u2019s highlights is, of course, that sunken conversation pit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWarnke realized there was a crawl space underneath the existing living room and decided to make a living room with built-in sofas that give the home even more of a midcentury vibe,\u201d Brenn-White explains.<\/p>\n

The personality of the home, which was built in 1959, is apparent in the clean lines and certain period elements that were preserved throughout the interior. Because the renovation was completed for Warnke\u2019s personal benefit, no expense or detail was spared.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of the original bathroom fixtures were kept to retain some midcentury character, although he moved them around in some cases,\u201d Brenn-White says. \u201cThe home is incredibly unique.\u201d<\/p>\n
