A 1971 Hacienda-style adobe home known as Windmill Manor has finally found its new owner.<\/p>\n

The 7,200-square-foot space at 5201 Valle Vista Drive<\/a> in Albuquerque, NM<\/a>, was originally listed last year for $1,490,000. But after a $500,000 price cut, the property is now marked as pending sale.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house combines its original, 50-year-old adobe charm with modern conveniences and West Coast upgrades\u2014like Caf\u00e9 brand kitchen appliances, an open-concept living room, and commercial-grade iron and glass doors,\u201d says current owner Jeff Poston<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Besides an all-new kitchen, parts of the home have also been upgraded as short-term rental spaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile the upstairs features traditional bedrooms and bathrooms, there are two downstairs suites that were customdesigned for short-term B&B stays,\u201d Poston says. \u201cBoth suites have separate exterior entrances, and small brick patios, and private baths with Jacuzzi tubs.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the suites also has an additional private, walled courtyard with a fire pit and shaded, wood deck.<\/p>\n

The finished, heated basement features a workout room, and an entertainment room for TV and games, the listing notes.<\/p>\n

Despite its large footprint, the six-bedroom home is actually eco friendly and runs entirely on electricity, with high-efficiency cooking appliances, water heating, and heat pump systems.<\/p>\n

Behind the name<\/h2>\n

The home\u2019s moniker, Windmill Manor<\/a>, nods to the actual windmill on the property.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwenty to 30 years ago, this estate was the only structure for a mile in any direction,\u201d Poston says. \u201cIt became known as Windmill Manor, because it has a real, bona fide windmill. A savvy buyer would likely return it to service as a generator or charger.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1-acre property is just a few minutes drive from the Rio Grande Valley State Park and the shops at Andalucia Retail Center. It offers acres of open space along with a 16-mile trail for running and biking along the Rio Grande River.<\/p>\n

But the new homeowners won\u2019t need to drive anywhere to get a sense of the surrounding landscape\u2019s natural beauty.<\/p>\n

As Poston puts it, \u201cthe views of Albuquerque and the Sandia Mountains from this property are breathtaking.\u201d<\/p>\n
