Chateau Artisan, the massive estate that looks like it\u2019s rising from the water in Miami<\/a>, is the personal residence<\/a> of local architect Charles Sieger<\/strong>. It\u2019s on the market for $21.8 million.<\/p>\n

Sieger, who designed and built the home for himself in 2007, had \u201cno intentions of selling the property,\u201d says listing agent Renzo Rossato<\/strong>, with EXP Realty. \u201cHe really thought about it as a home that would stay with the family forever, but circumstances changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The chateau was listed in 2014 for $12.8 million, then in June 2023 for $19.7 million. It was recently relisted at a markup.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason for the [price] increase is really the cost of construction and the cost of everything that has just gone up. The reality is, you can\u2019t build that home today for the price that we\u2019re asking for it, with the quality of materials used,\u201d Rossato says.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want to replicate this property today, you wouldn\u2019t be able to,\u201d Rossato says. \u201cI don\u2019t think that you are allowed to dig out and do what they did to create the moat surrounding the home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rossato adds that he first saw the home on Google Maps several years ago and has seen it as a pilot flying over the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe that something like that was out there. The first time physically going through the home was really breathtaking,\u201d he says. \u201cThe photos and videos don\u2019t really do it justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The estate was built in the middle of an artificial lake and includes a three-level main home and two guesthouses. There\u2019s a total of six bedrooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house has a beautiful large gate in the front,\u201d Rossato says. \u201cYou have some beautiful landscaping and a lot of birds. It just adds to the uniqueness of the home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lake and the land create a magnificent sanctuary, and the fountains and monuments add elegance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe perfect buyer for this home is somebody who is looking for something unique, something different, and looking for their privacy,\u201d he says. \u201cOnce you\u2019re in the home, it\u2019s almost 14 acres total and you have no direct neighbors. Complete privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Not the style for everybody\u2019<\/h2>\n

Rossato acknowledges the concrete castle design has elicited strong feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody\u2019s entitled to their opinion of the home, and we understand it\u2019s not the style for everybody,\u201d he says. \u201cWe get that, and it\u2019s OK,\u201d he says. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t intended to be for everyone. It was something that was very personal to [the sellers] and they created it for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the next owners could add their personal touches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house is finished with the concrete finish,\u201d he says. \u201cThere\u2019s no paint on the home. [A buyer] could paint it white, which will change the look of the house completely.\u201d<\/p>\n
