\u201cIt\u2019s the ultimate escape,\u201d says Michael Boege<\/strong>, with Coldwell Banker Realty; he\u2019s listing the place with Abby Dean<\/strong>. \u201cI\u2019ve never seen anything like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The getaway<\/a> is listed for $1.5 million and sits on a sprawling 64 acres.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s two hours from the Twin Cities area, and it\u2019s in the middle of lake country in Minnesota,\u201d Boege says. \u201cThere are miles of private trails on the property, and it\u2019s on a 400-plus-acre lake that features great fishing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bright-red barndominium was built in 2009. A separate cottage-style bunkhouse, wood-burning sauna, and heated garage are included in the listing. There\u2019s also a converted grain silo that functions as an outdoor grilling area.<\/p>\n

The 5,500-square-foot home has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s in great shape,\u201d Boege says, noting that the sellers used the place as a second home, as do many people in the area. \u201cIt has been used pretty lightly.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home\u2019s lower level includes a woodsy-style bar and a two-lane bowling alley, complete with automatic pin replacement and ball-return capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s set up just like a regular bowling alley,\u201d Boege says. \u201cIf you wanted to have the bumpers put up for little kids to bowl, it features that function.\u201d<\/p>\n

Outside, you can feed your need for speed with the quarter-mile-long go-kart track.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 18 years of selling real estate, I\u2019ve never sold a house with a private go-kart track,\u201d Boege says, adding that there are no actual go-karts included in the deal. The sellers \u201cused to have go-karts but have since sold them, so [the buyer] will have to bring their own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boege says the area is a great place for weekend and summer retreats, making the home an ideal investment property.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could see someone buying it as a place that they go to, but then also do short-term rentals<\/a> on it because of the bowling alley, the lake, and fishing,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

The lot includes more than 700 feet of frontage on pristine Birch Lake, which isn\u2019t crowded, since there aren\u2019t many homes nearby. Like this one, most of the homes are on large acreages. Boege says that isn\u2019t typical, though.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the lakes in Minnesota, you\u2019re going to have a half-acre lot or smaller, and you\u2019re going to have people on top of you,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be very busy on the weekends and very loud and kind of chaotic.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the case here.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you walk to the end of this dock, you look out and it\u2019s like you\u2019re looking into a national park,\u201d Boege says. \u201cYou see no other houses at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lake isn\u2019t deep, and since there are no large boats and other disruptions, the wildlife thrives\u2014as do humans, apparently.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt any given time, the loons on the lake will easily outnumber the boaters,\u201d Boege reveals. \u201cAs soon as you get there and you start walking around the land, you feel your blood pressure start to go down.\u201d<\/p>\n
