Arizona Diamondbacks<\/strong> pitcher Mark Melancon has lobbed his waterfront mansion in Holmes Beach, FL<\/a>, onto the market. You can snag it for $14,789,000.<\/p>\n

The closer and his wife, Mary Catherine, picked up the property on Anna Maria Island on the Gulf side of the Sunshine State in 2018. They paid $1.45 million for the parcel, according to Realtor.com\u00ae.<\/p>\n

They then built a championship home that was completed in 2020. The interior designer on the project, Emily Moss of Emily Moss Designs, described<\/a> the look to SRQ magazine as \u201cseaside chic.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the installation of a putting green on the property reportedly<\/a> inspired the relief ace to start a side hustle that will likely keep him busy when his bullpen days are over. He\u2019s now the founder<\/a> of artificial turf installation company Diamond Quality Turf.<\/p>\n

But Melancon hasn\u2019t quit his day job for the lawn biz\u2014yet. In fact, the well-traveled closer signed a two-year, $14 million deal with the Diamondbacks in December.<\/p>\n

Melancon certainly seems to have a passion for eye-catching spaces. He and his wife didn\u2019t seem set on any particular style for the home, opting instead for a grab bag of fun designs that Moss described as \u201ca little bit sophisticated, relaxed, dramatic, southern, coastal, kid-friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spanning 5,921 square feet, the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home offers indoor-outdoor living, with views of Bimini Bay.<\/p>\n

Melancon also had a custom home built in Mexico, according to a 2019 report<\/a>. The 19,000-square-foot villa at the Mandarina resort north of Puerto Vallarta features eight bedrooms, a gym, casino and game room, two hot tubs, and two pools.<\/p>\n

Now 37, the Colorado native made his big league debut with the New York Yankees<\/strong> in 2009. The four-time All-Star has since suited up for eight other big-league squads and racked up 251 saves over the course of his 14-year career.<\/p>\n
