But it isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a lot of houses, you can kind of put a date stamp [of when it was built] on it by looking at it,\u201d says listing agent Harvin Greene<\/strong>, with Dorsey Alston Realtors. \u201cThis house was built in 1990, but it feels like it was built in the 1920s, which is really the most popular era of homes in Atlanta.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pretty property is available for $2.3 million. It\u2019s the first time the home has ever been on the market.<\/p>\n

\u2018Labor of love\u2019<\/h2>\n

The 4,540-square-foot home was a custom collaboration between the owner, who happens to be a designer, and an architect.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really a labor of love,\u201d Greene says. \u201cYou use every inch of the house, which is not common here. Also, the way they sited it on the lot, it isn\u2019t necessarily how the rest of the street is built; but it\u2019s the perfect way to get the optimum light and views of trees from every room. There was a lot of thought put into things.\u201d<\/p>\n

The five-bedroom, four-bath pink palace is full of character, inside and out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pink, so it stands out from everything else; and it also has color inside, which is not typically what we see right now,\u201d Greene notes. \u201cSo everywhere you look, it\u2019s kind of [a] feast for your eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Distinct architectural details include moldings, 200-year-old beams, and a 400-year-old archway from Portugal. The curved staircase has a skylight above it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s something interesting to look at everywhere you are,\u201d Greene says.<\/p>\n

She points out that the blush-toned home functions well, and the details make it feel substantial.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think my favorite part about the house is that the way it\u2019s designed\u2014you use every room,\u201d she says. \u201cThere are no wasted spaces. Every space has a function.\u201d<\/p>\n

Set on a half-acre lot, the property straddles the city line on a quiet cul-de-sac near a park in a desirable area.<\/p>\n

The perfect buyer \u201cis someone who is well traveled, who has been exposed to different kinds of architecture and different looks,\u201d Greene explains. \u201cI think it is someone who will appreciate the quality of [the home].\u201d<\/p>\n
