\u201cHe transformed this ordinary ranch-style home,\u201d notes\u00a0Keith Markovitz<\/strong>, with\u00a0TTK Represents with Compass<\/a>, of the owner. The 2.5-acre spread now offers\u00a0\u201call new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring \u2026 a bohemian, modern California rustic atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s named for the iconic Know Where Bar in Los Angeles<\/a> and operates as a vacation-home rental and private-event space.<\/p>\n

Built in 2001, \u201cit\u2019s a really fun place to entertain,\u201d Markovitz says of the property, which includes a barn, reborn into a stylish bar.<\/p>\n

In the kitchen, a huge island with plentiful bar seating is ripe for gathering, too.<\/p>\n

The primary suite\u2014referred to as the Roy Rogers Suite\u2014features a claw-foot tub in the marble bathroom and reclaimed-wood planks highlighting the interior.<\/p>\n

\u201cPioneertown proper and the high desert in general has become a popular place for people to find enormous skies and large pieces of land,\u201d Markovitz says. \u201cPeople are looking for escapes from cities.\u201d<\/p>\n

What makes this property rise above the rest, however, is the refreshing, infinity-edge pool and proximity to lively Mane Street.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also well suited to continue its life as a short-term rental.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaces with swimming pools tend to do well here,\u201d Markovitz says. \u201cTo be a successful short-term rental in the desert, you need a Jacuzzi at minimum, but a swimming pool changes the numbers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markovitz is targeting a few types of potential buyers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome are looking for their own escapes and a place to enjoy the desert,\u201d he says. \u201cSome already own pieces of land in the high desert and are exploring this idea, because they feel it could have great rental potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markovitz, along with Shaun Alan-Lee<\/strong>, of Carolwood Estates; and Clayton Baldwin<\/strong>, at Compass; all hold the listing.<\/p>\n
