Its incredible cordwood design is similar to the magical stone hideaway<\/a> on 18 acres in nearby Abbot, ME<\/a>. That place coincidentally also just hit the market and is already under agreement, too. (The unique homes were constructed by two different builders).<\/p>\n

The house in Parkman \u201cis a remarkable and unusual property, as it is built similar to a yurt with its circular design,\u201d says listing agent Dolly Perkins<\/strong>, of Realty of Maine \u2013 Dover Foxcroft.\u00a0\u201cIt has a lot of really, really interesting details. In addition to the cordwood walls that have been laid out in a circular manner, there are glass bottles in the walls in the bedroom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1,256-square-foot abode was built in 2006 and offers just one bedroom, but there are a few details potential buyers should note about the home.<\/p>\n

The new owner needs to be prepared for a decidedly rustic way of life in the round house.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is off the grid and has a compost toilet,\u201d Perkins explains. \u201cA pit privy with incinerator toilet is eco-friendly and better than an outhouse. It also has a gas refrigerator. There is a wood stove, and it is set up for solar, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home\u2019s interior design has some pretty notable details, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are all kinds of really cool natural features that you aren\u2019t going to see everywhere,\u201d Perkins says. \u201cFor example, there is a countertop that has a live-edge piece of wood that has been varnished.\u201d<\/p>\n

This secluded, camplike property already has a generator set up for power that can also be purchased. The expansive lot is near hunting and fishing opportunities, along with watchable wildlife on-site.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe home is located on a road with easy access to recreation trails,\u201d Perkins notes. \u201cI think the next buyer will certainly be someone who appreciates the outdoors. It has beautiful views of the mountains and sits on 39 acres. The property is perfect for someone who is looking for privacy \u2026 and [to] be surrounded by nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plus, the home\u2019s unfinished second floor provides a blank slate to create a customized space. The property includes a one-car garage that can be used to store ATVs or snowmobiles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe home could also be used as a vacation spot for a weekend or summer getaway,\u201d Perkins says. \u201cMost of the homeowners there are three-season dwellers.\u201d<\/p>\n
