\u201cThe Northman\u201d star Alexander Skarsgard is placing his East Village apartment on the market for $2.6 million, according to Architectural Digest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Swedish actor purchased the cool unit in 2017 for $2.3 million. The downtown digs come with a celeb pedigree. Skarsgard\u2019s place was reportedly<\/a>\u00a0owned by Parker Posey<\/strong>, who sold it in 2008 for $1.8 million. And\u00a0Chloe Sevigny<\/strong> is also said to have lived in the building, before heading to Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Celebrity pedigree aside, it\u2019s easy to see the appeal of this one-bedroom apartment, which Skarsgard renovated.<\/p>\n

Care was taken to preserve original details such as the exposed brick, wood-beamed ceilings, and pocket shutters. The original pine flooring and windows were refurbished.<\/p>\n

The open floor plan features a marble fireplace and casement windows. Multiple skylights allow natural light to pour in.<\/p>\n

The kitchen has white-oak cabinetry, marble countertops, high-end appliances, and dark tile flooring.<\/p>\n

The cozy bedroom comes with an overhead skylight and white oak closets. The sole bathroom was given a high-end look with slate flooring, Waterworks fixtures, and a skylight.<\/p>\n

Options for improvement?<\/h2>\n

The layout of the apartment could be altered to add a second bedroom.<\/p>\n

The apartment comes with roof rights, so the next owner could add a deck with downtown and Freedom Tower views.<\/p>\n

Located in the St. Mark\u2019s Historic District neighborhood, the apartment building is close to public transit, Union Square, and Astor Place. Building amenities include a common garden, live-in superintendent, and basement storage lockers.<\/p>\n

Now 45, Skarsgard has starred in movies such as \u201cLong Shot\u201d and \u201cGodzilla vs. Kong.\u201c He also starred in the TV dramas \u201cBig Little Lies\u201d and \u201cTrue Blood.\u201d The award-winning actor is also a producer of the movie \u201cThe Northman.\u201d<\/p>\n
