The Virginia native and his wife, Heather<\/strong>, purchased the 5-acre property in 2012 for $3.9 million.\u00a0 They added their own personal touches, including\u00a0a man cave complete with a gym, wine cellar, and home theater. They also spruced up the landscaping and exterior space.<\/p>\n

The couple reportedly lived in the family home year-round. Just 15 minutes from Washington, DC,<\/a> the oasis offered \u201ca little vacation at home,\u201d Heather told Home & Design<\/a>\u00a0in 2016.<\/p>\n

Zimmerman, 37, played college ball at the University of Virginia. Nicknamed \u201cMr. National,\u201d he was a member of the Nationals for 16 seasons and was a two-time All-Star. He won the World Series championship with the Nats in 2019 and retired after the 2021 season.<\/p>\n
