Additionally, every effort was also made to create a warm and inviting living space. There is an open-concept, gourmet kitchen; a Scandinavian-style sauna; two-car garage; and an exercise room in the basement.<\/p>\n

The guest wing includes three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. This space, which also has a sitting room and queen-size Murphy bed, can even be closed off to accommodate a live-in caretaker or family member.<\/p>\n

A slew of superior finishes and fixtures abound throughout the house. There\u2019s a Brazilian-onyx kitchen backsplash, Gaggenau ovens, a Wolf induction cooktop, a Miele dishwasher and washer-dryer, and Duravit bathroom fixtures. The home also has a fireplace and an electric-vehicle charger.<\/p>\n

An ideal setting<\/strong><\/p>\n

This rural treasure isn\u2019t as far from civilization as it might feel. It\u2019s about two hours from Midtown Manhattan, 20 minutes from the 24,000-acre Minnewaska State Park Preserve, and just 30 minutes to the town of New Paltz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And while the 8.5-acre parcel may sound overwhelming, Powell explains you won\u2019t need to hire an army of landscapers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no green lawn per se at this house,\u201d he says of the grounds, which feature many drought-tolerant plants. \u201cThere are too many granite boulders strewn around. The native grasses and sedges are maintained with a string trimmer about once a month during the growing season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home is ideal for anyone who enjoys privacy and nature, needs relatively easy access to the city, or who just wants to live \u201cnear the many charming towns and hamlets found in the Hudson Valley,\u201d Powell says.<\/p>\n
