South Carolina\u2019s most expensive home listing ever<\/a> has just landed on the market for $22 million.<\/p>\n

Located in Simpsonville, SC<\/a>, the 16,000-square-foot home sits on a sprawling 54 acres designed for the horse lover.<\/p>\n

Dubbed Circle Creek Estate, the massive property features world-class equestrian amenities, including three riding arenas, and a 12-stall barn inspired by Old World Europe.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hand-built from scratch\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>

Built in 2014, the six-bedroom estate was designed to resemble an English manor. And while the stone home\u2019s price tag is the steepest in the state, \u201cthe cost to recreate this property today would be north of $30 million,\u201d according to the listing.<\/p>\n

In fact, many of the building materials were eclectically sourced.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe home was essentially hand-built from scratch, and it took two years to construct,\u201d says listing agent Damian Hall<\/strong>, of Blackstream International Real Estate.\u00a0\u201cThey used materials from all over the world to furnish it. There is a street lamp from Central Park, stone planters from the Great Wall of China, and reclaimed cobblestones from a street in Pittsburgh. The stone mantels had to be assembled by crane, and there are giant beams in the den that came from a mill in South Carolina. Every piece of material used tells a story.\u201d<\/p>\n

The great room features two enormous, cast-limestone fireplaces that lead to a barrel-vaulted ceiling with exposed, curved wood beams.<\/p>\n

A gourmet chef\u2019s kitchen boasts a coffered ceiling, travertine stone countertops, high-end appliances, and a butler\u2019s pantry.<\/p>\n

The primary suite is in its own wing on the main level and comes with a sitting area and fireplace, soaking tub, and two walk-in closets. There is also a private gym with a steam room.<\/p>\n

The horse barn was built with reclaimed timbers and features stalls by Lucas Equine, a top horse-stall manufacturer.<\/p>\n

The barn also has a living area, full bath, kitchenette, loft apartment, and a tack room.<\/p>\n

All you need to bring is your suitcase (and your horse).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe estate is being sold turnkey with all of the furnishings and artwork included,\u201d Hall says. \u201cThe design and all of the interiors were hand-picked for that property.\u201d<\/p>\n

Located on a private lot against the foothills of South Carolina\u2019s Blue Ridge Mountains, the enormous compound also features a pool and network-controlled lighting and security systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is hard to find a property with this kind of acreage just 45 minutes to an hour from the city,\u201d Hall says. \u201cIt is nearby everything and is centrally located. It is just 10 minutes away from Whole Foods in Greenville<\/a>, [which] also has shops and restaurants.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hall thinks the next buyer will own multiple properties but use this one as a home base.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will probably be someone who is an equestrian and might even compete on a professional level,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
