Built in 1955 and listed for $1 million, the fab pad in\u00a0Fountain City, WI<\/a>, recently underwent a major renovation.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s no need to worry about decorating the place: All the furnishings come with the 2,540-square-foot home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe midcentury style is really going to pop, because the seller is an aficionado with collecting pieces and has really curated the home with the pieces that are perfect for it,\u201d says listing agent Noel Krueger<\/strong>, with Edina Realty \u2013 Grand Avenue.<\/p>\n

The retro residence sits on four acres, and many of the rooms have views of the Mississippi River below.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I\u2019m there, I can just kind of sit and look out the window or be up on one of the balconies or decks, and it\u2019s just so peaceful and relaxing to look over the water and see all the different birds and wildlife,\u201d Krueger says.<\/p>\n

The seller, who snapped the place up in 2020 for $359,900, is just the third owner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI first helped him purchase it, and it actually needed quite a bit of love,\u201d Krueger explains. \u201cThe seller invested a lot of time and energy and funds in the last few years. He saw the potential and was really able to bring it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The three-bedroom, three-bath home is made mostly of concrete and steel.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a real solid and well-built home,\u201d Krueger says, adding that neighbors call it the \u201cbunker house\u201d because of the construction materials and the fact it is built into a stone wall.<\/p>\n

In addition to selecting the perfect period furnishings, the seller remodeled the bathrooms, restored floors, replaced decking, upgraded plumbing and electrical, and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe [furniture] pieces add a lot of value, and the market in the last few years has certainly pushed things up a bit,\u201d Krueger says of the list price. \u201cBut really, it\u2019s what he has done to make it look glorious and beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krueger says the owner is a landscape architect and made many outdoor improvements.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe home basically goes into the bluff, so it\u2019s all limestone and woodlands,\u201d he says. \u201cYou have a huge patio and deck space, and there are about three different spots where you can entertain and enjoy being outside and look straight out over the river.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krueger says the move-in ready home could work as a vacation getaway or short-term rental. But the sellers had been living in it full time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s right on the river bluff, so you can spend all the time that you want boating, fishing, that kind of thing; and you have easy access to marinas,\u201d he says, noting that there are river towns with shopping and restaurants nearby. \u201cIt\u2019s a great spot if you want to get away.\u201d<\/p>\n
