It\u2019s hard to imagine a cuter tiny home than this Elizaville Public Schoolhouse<\/a>, which has already found a buyer just 10 days after it came on the market for $295,000. The darling domicile is currently pending a sale.<\/p>\n

The recently renovated schoolhouse was built in 1860 to serve the farming community of Elizaville, NY<\/a>\u2014a hamlet in the towns of Clermont and Gallatin, which still had fewer than 2,000 residents as of 2022.<\/p>\n

But the charming one-bedroom, one-bath, 706-square-foot house isn\u2019t quite as remote as you\u2019d think.<\/p>\n

The quarter-acre lot is tucked among the Catskill Mountains and is just a 15-minute drive to the towns of Hudson<\/a> or Rhinebeck<\/a>, and two hours to downtown Manhattan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite the fresh coat of paint and a small but modernized kitchen and bath, the home retains many of its original features, including the loft bedroom, where the school\u2019s headmistress once slept.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are still marks in the floors where the desks were lined up and students\u2019 names etched into the wavy glass windows,\u201d says listing agent Annabel Taylor<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cThe floors, windows, cupola, and metal roof are all original.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home has central air that can be controlled remotely, as well as a tankless water heater.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne advantage to living in the beautiful rural town of Elizaville is that all residents are granted access to Twin Lakes, which is a great swimming spot just three minutes from the schoolhouse,\u201d Taylor says.<\/p>\n

The house doesn\u2019t fall under any historical covenants, so it can be updated or expanded.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s hard to think about changing a thing on this little white schoolhouse with a bright pink door.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty perfect as is, and full of charm,\u201d Taylor says.<\/p>\n
