Casino magnate Steve Wynn<\/strong> is letting go of his sprawling\u00a0Ketchum, ID<\/a>, estate for $27 million. The sky-high price tag makes it the most expensive property in the state.<\/p>\n

The 81-year-old has been slowly selling off $300 million in his personal real estate portfolio, as reported by The Wall Street Journal<\/a>\u2014from a $78.5 million estate in Palm Beach, FL<\/a>, to a $90 million New York City<\/a> penthouse.<\/p>\n

Last year, he unloaded his Las Vegas, NV<\/a>, home for $17.5 million and another waterfront spread<\/a> in Palm Beach for $32 million.<\/p>\n

As for the\u00a0Idaho<\/a>\u00a0megacompound, the property sits on two lots, for a total of four acres. One parcel features a main house originally built in 1986, and a second parcel contains the guesthouse constructed in 1979.<\/p>\n

The magnificent mountainside retreat boasts a total of 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms throughout a sprawling 15,453 square feet.<\/p>\n

According to listing agent Sue Engelmann<\/strong>, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Sun Valley Properties, the casino mogul purchased the home in 2009 and essentially rebuilt the entire place in 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Steve bought the property, it was a traditional mountain home with lots of dark wood,\u201d Engelmann says. \u201cHe not only added to the home but made it all lighter inside. The windows were opened up, and everything was replaced with a lighter interior.\u00a0It was a substantial overhaul, and he added two other wings to it. In 2021, he also added a pool and spa.\u201d<\/p>\n

The main residence features six \u201chotel-caliber,\u201d en suite bedrooms; a massage room; gym; catering kitchen; and media room.\u00a0The great room has a cathedral ceiling and a towering, floor-to-ceiling window that offers spectacular mountain views.<\/p>\n

A nearby bar has built-ins, a cozy fireplace, and a wall of windows.\u00a0The open kitchen offers exposed, wood-beam ceilings; high-end appliances; and a large, granite center island.<\/p>\n

\u2018Like living in a Wynn Hotel\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe property is very private but also very close to town,\u201d Engelmann notes. \u201cIt borders 16 acres that are owned by the association, so it is all open space.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the mansion\u2019s beyond-luxe amenities lend a vacation-at-home atmosphere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house itself is like living in the Wynn Hotel, from the his and hers toilets in every bathroom down to the slippers and robes,\u201d Engelmann says. \u201cHe has museum-quality lighting to showcase his art. The pool even has a lane light, so you can swim at night. Every detail was considered during the remodel.\u201d<\/p>\n

A floating, illuminated, curved staircase leads to a spectacular primary suite with a fireplace, extra-long vanity, a walk-in closet, and sliders that open to a private terrace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole house runs on a Crestron system\u2014lighting, blinds, fireplaces, security, AV, et cetera\u2014and can be controlled remotely,\u201d Engelmann says.<\/p>\n

As for who might snap up this spectacular offering, she says, \u201cI think the next owner will probably be someone who has grown kids or grandchildren and might want to build next door for extended family. We have had people want to buy the guesthouse separately, but Steve wants the person who buys the main home to have the opportunity to buy the adjacent lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
