In Chicago\u2019s tony Lincoln Park neighborhood, lies an astonishing 25,000-square-foot mansion<\/a>. Priced at $29,999,995, the estate is clearly at the top of the Windy City\u2019s housing stock.<\/p>\n

This six-bedroom, 11-bath home clocks in as the most expensive listing in Illinois. But it\u2019s also a rare find in the city, according to listing agent Matt Leutheuser<\/strong>, of Jameson Sotheby\u2019s International Realty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve put eight [city] lots together,\u201d he says. \u201cI don\u2019t think you could do that today.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds that the parcel alone is worth $20 million.<\/p>\n

The sellers bought the land in 2005 and spent five years building the lavish, limestone-exterior house.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have the privacy and no eyes on you, and you get this west-facing, natural light,\u201d Leutheuser says.<\/p>\n

\u2018Urban sanctuary\u2019<\/h2>\n

Leutheuser believes an offer is likely to come from someone with ties to the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a local buyer that\u2019s here full time, for the most part, and probably has a family that likes that open space and also loves to entertain,\u201d he predicts.<\/p>\n

The high-demand neighborhood along Lake Michigan, five miles north of downtown Chicago, continues to attract luxury-minded buyers. Good schools and beachfront access make the area even more irresistible.<\/p>\n
