If a home\u2019s allure was measured by its ability to distract, this one would earn high marks. That\u2019s because more than 50 people showed up for an open house at the\u00a0Green Bay, WI<\/a>, abode during a Packers game! <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAround here, that just doesn\u2019t happen,\u201d says listing agent\u00a0Carri Busse<\/strong>, who is representing the listing with fellow agent Maria Sandoval<\/strong>, both with Shorewest Realtors\u2013Green Bay\/Door County.<\/p>\n

The prospective buyers (or possibly just looky-loos?) showed up on game day to get a good look at the unique midcentury home<\/a>, which dates to 1958. With its 28-foot, steel-framed parabolic roof, it has a distinctly shiplike aura.<\/p>\n

After two recent price cuts, the 4,360-square-foot time capsule is listed for $365,000.<\/p>\n

The sellers bought the home in March and have decided it\u2019s too big for them. And before them, there were only two owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very original, and they haven\u2019t made many changes,\u201d Sandoval says. \u201cIt\u2019s like going back in time.\u201d<\/p>\n

A 1964 article about the home\u2019s first owners notes that its striking roofline attracts attention. And while the facade, including the triangle above the front door, is certainly notable, the unique design continues inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou definitely get a fun and funky vibe when you walk in the front door,\u201d Busse says. \u201cYou feel something when you go into this house. It\u2019s not just your average house.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, stone accents, a cantilevered staircase, and a sunken living room.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the kitchen, with its original cabinetry and orange countertops.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re laminate, and it\u2019s the same that you saw in the \u2018Brady Bunch\u2019 house,\u201d Busse says.<\/p>\n

The kitchen also has its original linoleum floors, which wrap up the wall a bit\u2014an older installation style that is no longer used, she explains.<\/p>\n

The retro color palette and vintage flooring aren\u2019t the only old-school details. There is also plenty of paneling and shag carpeting.<\/p>\n

The home is full of \u201clittle touches\u2014like the deadbolts are heart-shaped,\u201d says Busse, who admits she and her husband briefly considered buying the home. \u201cThere are just a lot of unique features in this house that we don\u2019t see in other houses.\u201d<\/p>\n

And if the recent open house attendance is any indication, there is some genuine interest in restoring this home to its former glory.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are loving midcentury modern. \u2026 It reminds them of their childhood, or the features are just so different with open areas and windows,\u201d Busse says. \u201cWe\u2019re hearing from our buyers that nothing [on the market] has character, so they\u2019re looking for something unique.\u201d<\/p>\n
