Calling all motorheads: Retired race car driver Richard Berry<\/strong>\u2018s megamansion in Evergreen, CO<\/a>, comes with its own jaw-dropping auto hangar.<\/p>\n

Custom-built in 2004,\u00a0the\u00a050,275-square-foot mountain spread<\/a> sits on 75 acres just west of Denver<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Listed for $24,799,000, the property known as Thunder Ridge is attracting a fair amount of attention. It was recently ranked as one of the most popular homes<\/a> in the country.<\/p>\n

But Thunder Ridge didn\u2019t exactly rev the market\u2019s engines in 2019, when it was listed for $19,999,000. Its current list price is an increase of $4.8 million, which listing agent Sean Endsley<\/strong>, of LIV Sotheby\u2019s International Realty, attributes to Denver\u2019s dynamic real estate scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy market saw a 36% appreciation from the [COVID-19] pandemic to April this year. Then it dropped 16% to today,\u201d says Endsley. \u201cThat\u2019s a net 20% gain. The high-end market is not suffering like the low end. There is going to be some appreciation because of this home\u2019s location.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another factor in the area\u2019s invigorated market: the pandemic-driven migration from urban to rural neighborhoods, where many buyers prioritized square footage and breathing room over big-city perks, he says.<\/p>\n

The six-bedroom main house is 22,864 square feet and offers loads of luxury amenities, including nine fireplaces, built-in aquariums, an enormous primary suite with a built-in bed, and a spectacular 27,000-square-foot auto hangar.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople expressing interest in the property have ranged from royalty to other car enthusiasts,\u201d Endsley notes.<\/p>\n

And for car freaks with means, that hangar has everything: sleeping quarters, an office, a bathroom, a mechanic\u2019s shop, and arena-quality speakers and lighting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredible,\u201d Endsley raves.<\/p>\n

But if a buyer doesn\u2019t really care about storing a fleet, there are other possibilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe flexibility of that space is going to sell the house,\u201d Endsley says of the hangar, which has housed as many as 110 cars. \u201cIt\u2019s just amazing to walk through. It could be used as a sports facility or equestrian facility.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mountaintop property also features a wine cellar, beauty salon, and home theater with stadium seating.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo million dollars was invested in the home theater,\u201d says Endsley. \u201cWhen it was built, it was the loudest theater on the planet. It has a \u2018Star Trek\u2019 theme; but it is modular, so you could easily turn it into a \u2018Rocky,\u2019 \u2018Indiana Jones,\u2019 or \u2018Fight Club\u2019 theme.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is a stunning indoor waterfall and an entertainment system in the pool area, which is landscaped with mummified\u2014or dehydrated\u2014palm trees and enclosed with a truly celestial overhead feature.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the ceiling, when the sky presents as a night sky, you can see constellations and shooting stars,\u201d Endsley says. \u201cThere are also six large garage doors to the pool that you can open up to make it an outdoor pool. It\u2019s just incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n
