A brick home in Bordentown, NJ,<\/a> that was once owned by Napoleon Bonaparte<\/strong>\u2018s older brother, Joseph<\/strong>\u2014a diplomat, statesman, and one-time king of Spain\u2014is the oldest property to hit the market this week on Realtor.com\u00ae.<\/p>\n

The former king of Spain is said to have lived in the historic home from 1816 until 1839, when he emigrated to the U.S. after the fall of Napoleon. The home was then sold to Joseph Hopkinson<\/strong>, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. It later served as the dormitory of the Bordentown Military Institute, and dubbed Hopkinson House, or \u201cHop House,\u201d before being transformed into a single-family home.<\/p>\n
