But when you get closer, you notice just how special this remarkable midcentury modern residence truly is.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the first house I\u2019ve encountered that is built on a steel bridge structure, so that inherently just makes it unique and one of a kind,\u201d says Jessica Buelow<\/strong>, co-listing agent with Karen Rue<\/strong>. On the market for $750,000, the 2,452-square-foot house is suspended over a creek, which necessitates the bridge-like support structure. Thanks to the steel girders holding the home in place, it appears to hover weightlessly above the ground. The elevation of the home also helps connect it with its natural surroundings.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou really feel like you\u2019re in a tree house when you\u2019re in the property,\u201d Buelow says. \u201cEven as you approach the front door and are walking along the driveway, you look down and lo and behold, there\u2019s the creek. It\u2019s a pretty cool experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

You can hear the water running underneath the residence, Buelow says. It\u2019s a difficult parcel of land that required a unique solution back in the late 1950s.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story I have heard is that the original owner, Mr. Erickson, was an engineer and his wife may have been from a family that was in the steel business,\u201d she says. \u201cWe kind of think it was the brainchild of an engineer with a connection to steel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whoever buys the house will be the fourth owner since it was built in 1959. The current owner moved into the place in 2005 and didn\u2019t make many changes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a time capsule. It is a great slate that is ready for someone to come in and really just make it shine in all its glory,\u201d Buelow says. \u201cIt\u2019s got the midcentury modern vibes all the way throughout.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the main living space, there\u2019s a wall of windows overlooking the trees. The bathrooms and kitchen are original, which will surely thrill midcentury enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody is have going to have to undo anything. Some of the midcentury modern purists can find themselves frustrated when they find these houses that have been updated and are perhaps not appropriate to the period,\u201d Buelow explains. \u201cThis is a really great canvas for a purist to come in and bring it up to more modern standards in a way that makes sense with the house.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are three bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and one extremely unique recreational feature.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe indoor pool is underneath the garage and about halfway underneath the driveway,\u201d Buelow says. \u201cThe pool room is kind of your classic late \u201950s in-ground kind of bean shaped pool, and then on one side of that pool room are two separate shower rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The current owner has never filled the pool, so the agent says the condition and functionality of it are uncertain.<\/p>\n

The home sits amongst mature trees, and Buelow says it\u2019s possible to see nearby Lake Superior in the winter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [the perfect buyer is] someone that\u2019s been waiting and watching for something just really super unique in a really lovely setting,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s somewhere that you\u2019d want to be year round and watch the four seasons change in the beautiful north shore area of Minnesota.\u201d<\/p>\n
