A cool concrete home designed for enjoying the Venice, CA, lifestyle is now on the market. Known as one of the Venice Twins, the modern residence is listed for $5.25 million.

“This is a mostly concrete house. We’ve also got the huge beautiful sheets of glass in the front. They’re architecturally cool and also bring in so much light and visibility,” explains listing agent Jesper Inglis with Coldwell Banker Realty.

Completed this year, the 3,586-square-foot home sits blocks from the beach and features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and an abundance of outdoor deck space.

The architects used a reverse floor plan with most of the living space located on the second level to create visual interest.

“The ground floor has a theater room, a guest bedroom with its own bathroom, a powder room, the laundry, and garage,” Inglis explains.

On the second floor, you’ll find the main kitchen, a dining room, living space, two bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and some storage.

High ceilings throughout the home lend a spacious feel. On the home’s third level is the primary bedroom, which comes with a perk of its own.

“There is a big open patio and the second kitchen,” says Inglis.

The auxiliary kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, cabinets, and a grill—eliminating the need to bring things upstairs from the main kitchen when enjoying yourself outdoors on the deck.

And the al fresco space isn’t limited to the third level.

“There’s a second deck just a few stairs up which has a fire feature and plants and a sitting area,” says Inglis.

Outdoor space

Another 1,000 square feet of deck space sits on the rooftop and could even support a hot tub.

An elevator services all the floors.

“The architects really did a great job. You’ve got a lot of killer architectural features and a lot of great technology, but also a design that allows you to live that great California lifestyle,” Inglis says. “With the open-air entertaining you can enjoy the weather year round with easy access. It’s pretty nice.”

Radiant heating and cooling in both the floors and ceiling allow for easy temperature control inside.

This house is part of a two-home project; a sister house sits right next door.

“The design is the same as far as they’re both concrete and they have the same floor plan,” Inglis says. The siding on this house is wood and the one next door is metal. The interior design is also slightly different.

The neighboring house hasn’t gone up for sale—yet.

As for privacy, Inglis says motorized blinds are on some of the main windows, but they wanted to leave the final finishes up to the buyer.

“I think [the buyer] will be somebody who appreciates the architectural value of it,” he says, adding this house has a coolness factor. “It’s very hip and very unique. Just in the design and the concrete, of course, and then the unique design of the second outdoor kitchen area and all the different usable indoor and outdoor spaces.”
