Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones faces more legal troubles stemming from his false claims about the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in 2012.<\/p>\n

The broadcaster owes almost $50 million after losing a recent defamation lawsuit centered on his many lies about the mass shooting. His lawyers are expected to appeal.<\/p>\n

While the actual amount he owes will likely be reduced, Jones has claimed that any judgment of over $2 million would \u201csink us.\u201d That claim has been disputed. An economist testified<\/a> at the recent trial that \u201cJones and his company are worth up to $270 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the verdict, Jones has urged supporters to buy his products to help fund his legal fights. His potential liabilities don\u2019t end with the recent defamation judgment\u2014the InfoWars mogul faces an ongoing cash crunch and has filed for bankruptcy protection<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With his purported financial problems taking center stage in the host of cases brought against him, it turns out Jones still possesses a robust property portfolio. Over the past couple of decades, he\u2019s bought and sold a number of homes in the Austin, TX<\/a>, area and still owns multiple homes in the capital city.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at his real estate holdings.<\/p>\n

Austin area<\/h2>\n

Jones appears to live large in Austin. Built in 2006, his 5,467-square-foot mansion overlooks the Barton Creek Greenbelt and sits on an acre lot.<\/p>\n

With four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, the home is entered via a private courtyard. An open floor plan features wood-beamed ceilings and walls of windows.<\/p>\n

The chef\u2019s kitchen comes with commercial-grade appliances, granite counters, and custom cabinets. A primary suite includes an office, sitting area, luxe bath, and walk-in closet. Outside, there\u2019s a pool, spa, and fireplace.<\/p>\n

The Texas native purchased the property in 2015 for an undisclosed amount. Prior to his purchase, the home was on the market for $2,275,000.<\/p>\n

In February, the deed for the property was transferred from a trust connected to Jones to his wife, Erika Wulff Jones.<\/p>\n

Waterfront retreat<\/h2>\n

About 20 miles from his current digs, Jones owns a waterfront retreat in Austin.<\/p>\n

Built on a lot of 6 acres in 1995, the home was designed by Christopher Alexander<\/strong>. The three-bedroom home overlooking Lake Travis offers 1,578 square feet of living space. The rustic residence features beamed ceilings, a chef\u2019s kitchen, stone floors, and a large covered patio for dining and lounging.<\/p>\n

Outdoor amenities include a basketball court, sauna, boat dock, stone fireplace, and courtyard.<\/p>\n

Jones purchased the place with his first wife, Kelly Jones<\/strong>, in November 2009. Following their divorce, records show the property was transferred to Alex Jones in March 2015.<\/p>\n

6-acre waterfront retreat<\/p>\n

Property records show he likely still owns a couple of other places in Austin. His name appears as owner of a three-bedroom condo in the city\u2019s South Lamar neighborhood, which was purchased in June 2017, as well as a four-bedroom home in south Austin, which was purchased in 1998.<\/p>\n

These two properties may have been purchased for (or along with) relatives. He recruited his father<\/a> to help run his burgeoning supplement business in 2013.<\/p>\n

Past properties<\/h2>\n

Jones has moved around in Austin. He sold a five-bedroom home in the city\u2019s Rivercrest area in 2011 for $1,193,750. Built in 1996, the luxury home features 4,036 square feet of living space and an outdoor pool on a half-acre lot.<\/p>\n

West Lake Hills<\/h2>\n

At one time, Jones owned a piece of primo real estate in West Lake Hills, TX<\/a>, which he sold in 2007. A contemporary \u201cmasterpiece\u201d has since been erected on the same parcel.<\/p>\n

Built in 2016, the 7,000-square-foot mansion was last on the market for $5.5 million. Set on an acre lot overlooking downtown Austin, the \u201chigh-efficiency\u201d residence includes an infinity pool, home automation, and solar panels.<\/p>\n

Spicewood<\/h2>\n

A couple of decades ago, Jones owned a one-bedroom pad built in 1950 in the town of Spicewood<\/a>, which sits west of Austin. Willie Nelson<\/strong> is said to own a ranch in the area. It\u2019s also been attracting residents who are looking for a rural Texas spot that\u2019s also close to the Colorado River. Jones sold the home in 2006.<\/p>\n
