A recently renovated four-bedroom, two-bathroom abode that was just featured on the latest season of the HGTV show “Home Town” is up for sale again. This time around, it’s priced at $375,000.

Listing agent Kandace Monsivais explains that after Erin and Ben Napier renovated the Laurel, MS, house for a Season 8 episode, a job transfer took the homeowners to another state.

“They were hoping to just rent this house out and then return in a year or two,” says Monsivais. “But the job looks like it’s going to be a long-term thing, so they decided to go ahead and list it.”

She adds that the owners are “very disappointed” about not moving into the house.

Head-to-toe reno

So while this couple won’t be able to enjoy the newly redone residence, the darling domicile promises to be a dream home for another family.

The 1900 build was completely renovated by the “Home Town” team. The exterior, each bedroom, the bathrooms, and even the detached cottage behind the house were all overhauled. Much of the work wasn’t shown on TV, so the many thoughtful finishes will surely be a welcome surprise to potential buyers.

“On ‘Home Town,’ most of time they will just do the kitchen and living room—maybe a bathroom, depending on a person’s budget; but this couple, because they were so excited to be moving here, went ahead and did everything,” Monsivais explains. “They put a ton of work into this house. So it’s practically new and move-in ready for the next people.”

This Laurel, MS, home was built in 1900 and renovated in 2023.

Erin and Ben Napier refreshed the interior with brand-new floors and a fresh coat of paint.

Erin and Ben love to keep original features whenever they can, so they were happy to refinish the original floors. However, they couldn’t save the living room’s original wainscoting. Instead, they recreated the classic box pattern before painting it to complement the wall color. This wainscoting might not be original, but it gives the space a classic, elevated look.

The kitchen is bright and timeless, with big windows and lots of storage.

Cool cook space—and more

Erin completely reimagined the home’s kitchen, creating a convenient cook space with an island, granite countertops, and a sink with a window view.

In the episode, Erin mentions that she would love to use stone to create a backsplash on the kitchen walls, but she notes that the budget for this project is tight. Instead, she compromises with a small slab of granite above the range to add some visual interest. It’s not the look she originally wanted, but it’s a nice touch in this elegant kitchen.

This home includes a first-floor bedroom with a faux fireplace.

The living room, kitchen, and first-floor bedroom updates were featured on the Season 8 episode of “Home Town,” but Erin and Ben’s team also renovated the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms while they were at it.

The sleep spaces are light and airy, while the main bath features a convenient double vanity.

This house includes a cottage, which would be a perfect in-law suite or rental property.

Backyard cottage

One notable feature of this listing is the backyard guesthouse. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage, which includes a full kitchen, would be an ideal in-law suite or rental home. It’s yet another selling point for this move-in ready house.

“You won’t have to do a thing,” Monsivais says of the property. “And you have the potential to have extra income with the little cottage, which is great for either short- or long-term tenants.”
