Kelly Clarkson has racked up an impressive career: multiple chart-toppers, two Grammys, and some 25 million albums sold worldwide.

Clarkson rocketed to fame after winning the first season of “American Idol” in 2002. In addition to her recording career, she has served as a coach for “The Voice” and hosted her Emmy-winning daytime show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

She’s also accumulated a number of hot properties.

We dove into the singer’s hefty real estate portfolio for a closer look at what she’s bought and sold. Stops include swanky digs near Los Angeles, a ranch in Montana, and numerous homes in Tennessee and Texas.

Los Angeles

With her talk show renewed for a fourth season, Clarkson’s put down roots in L.A.

She  recently purchased a gated estate in Toluca Lake, a high-end neighborhood with celebrity residents that have included Octavia Spencer, Melissa McCarthy, and Kirsten Dunst.

Clarkson paid $5,445,000 in June 2021 for the compound, which includes a Colonial-style main house, a guesthouse, a lighted tennis court, and a pool.

Renovated in 1985, the 1930s-era mansion sits on just over an acre.

Previously, Clarkson sold her modern farmhouse in Encino, CA, for $8.24 million in September 2021.

It was a loss for Clarkson, who purchased the custom-built property in 2018 for $8.5 million. She had listed the home for just under $10 million in May 2020, after her split from her husband, Brandon Blackstock.

The 10,000-square-foot Encino residence has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms.

With a color palette of white, gray, and black, the eye-catching space features wood beams, walls of glass, and a sleek kitchen with three islands.

Interior amenities include a home theater, fitness center, game room, and wine cellar.

Out back, there’s a multilevel pool, lounge area, fire pit, outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, and grassy lawn. The property comes with a separate two-bedroom guesthouse.

Montana

Clarkson also owns a dude ranch. At the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, Clarkson’s talk show shut down and her Las Vegas residency was postponed. So she and her family decamped to a ranch in Montana, where they lived in a log cabin and rode horses while riding out the global pandemic.

“Hiding in Montana,” she wrote alongside a video she shared on Instagram at the time.

Property records show that she purchased the rural property in 2019. While the final sale price wasn’t disclosed, the 5,700-acre ranch was previously on the market for $9.9 million.

The cattle ranch with horses and acreage seemed to have provided the perfect place to social distance with her family.

Clarkson also appeared to embrace the gift of time with her family on the picturesque property.

“It’s nice to get into nature. … It’s nice to just come out here and sit by the stream and hear the water flowing and be around all the trees,” she said.

Tennessee

Here’s the ballad of Clarkson’s cribs in Tennessee. In 2007, Clarkson went a little bit country and picked up a relatively modest Nashville home. Located in the Belle Meade neighborhood, the charming stone cottage cost the singer a reported $1.5 million.

After four years of ownership, she took a loss on the three-bedroom home in 2011, selling it for $1.2 million.

Instead of singing the blues, Clarkson shopped around for another Nashville-area residence. In 2014, she snapped up a huge 275-acre farm in Lebanon, TN, for $1.96 million.

Located about 30 minutes outside of Nashville, the retreat offers a fishing lake, one-bedroom cottage, and large barn for storage or entertaining.

She had better luck with this investment, which she sold in 2020 for $3 million.

In 2012, Clarkson and Blackstock snagged a luxury spread in Hendersonville, TN, for $2,860,000. They poured serious money into a custom remodel.

The seven-bedroom spread offers 20,000 square feet of living space and sits on 4 aces.

Features include a two-story great room with a fireplace, eat-in kitchen and adjacent family room, screening room, game room, and cowboy bar with horse-saddle seats.

Outside, a split staircase from the balcony leads to a saltwater pool with two spas, a covered dining area, and private lake access, plus a dock.

In 2017, Clarkson listed the mansion for $8.75 million. It finally sold in June 2021 for $6.3 million.

Texas

A native of the Lone Star State, Clarkson made a large land grab in Mansfield, close to where she grew up.

The 6,880-square-foot country estate on 14 acres has four bedrooms, including dual bedroom suites, a theater, and a gym.

Clarkson added a pond in the backyard, two pools, a treehouse, and dog runs. She sold the place in October 2012 for $1.5 million.
